Get Connected ensures that your computer is secure and correctly configured to access the IU campus network.

Requirements
|
Get Connected requires Windows Vista, XP Home or Professional. 32- and 64-bit versions of these operating systems are supported. Other Windows operating systems require manual registration.

What Changes Does Get Connected
Make to my Computer?

Get Connected makes the following changes to your system:
- blocks ports used by known exploits
- applies enhanced security policies
- enables, if necessary, the windows firewall
- schedules Windows Automatic Updates to run daily
- standardizes your computer's name
- disables insecure authentication protocols

What software does Get Connected
install on my Computer?

Get Connected will install the following:
- Critical Windows security updates
- Symantec AntiVirus (if no other anti-virus software is detected)
- Windows Defender
- The UITS Printer Finder
- Shortcuts to frequently-used online IU resources
Get Connected will only install a software package if it detects that no previous versions are already installed.
